Elevated Light Rail System – Hebbal to JP Nagar

An alternative mode of quick transport, real estate based development or a mere election gimmick?

The necessity to de-subsidize water supply

Dear Prajegale,

The Next PIL against BBMP- Streetlights or the lack of it

Dear Prajegale,

There have been numerous reports in the media about how poorly lit Bangalore is as a city and how this has actually encouraged anti social activities. Some of the prominent roads where you could find dysfunctional streetlights are:

Lack of Parking Facilities for public transport users in RR Nagar

A problem that I face everyday is lack of safe parking places in Rajajrajeshwari Nagar. I live in Krishna Garden, where there is no last mile connectivity to speak of. I use the public transport as riding through Bangalore's roads have become a pain.

The Sorry state of affairs at KNDV Station

I visited the Krishna Deva Raya Station in Vijayanagar on Sunday. What is striking here is the absolute lack of infrastructure! Some issues with this station are:

(1) Lack of platforms

(2) A poorly deisgned box, which serves as the ticket counter

(3) The endless construction of the railway underpass

Late night public transport- Does it mean our city is safer for women?

A city with a population of over a crore needs a transport system round the clock. Unfortunately, this legitimate demand of citizens seems to have fallen on deaf ears. Even the much touted Bangalore Metro system shuts it services at 10:00 PM. This is unlike DMRC whose services run till 11:00 PM.

Wiki Entry for CRS in Transport Section of Bangalore

The Wiki page on Bangalore has a transport section.  The transport section has details of only BMTC, Autos, Call Taxis and  Metro. It might be a good idea to include information about the DEMUs and MEMUs that run in Bangalore Metropolitan region. The routes, the timings and the stations. which it passes through could be included.

Cycle Day in Layouts and Localities, which are close to rail lines

Dear Prajagale,

It may be a good idea to hold the cycle day event held at layouts and localities in Bangalore, which are in close proximity to rail lines and railway stations. A lot of us who have grown up hearing the noise of the chugging trains relate to the concept of a suburban railway in comparison to others.

Kengeri to Bidadi - Infra Issues will the MEMU Help?

I had to travel to Bidadi on Saturday on some official work. I took the train from Kengeri to Bidadi station. The journey took me 15 minutes on the push pull train. I had the following observations:
(1) There were only two stations on the entire 18 kilometre stretch

Where is the Funding Mr. Minister for CRS?

There has been renewed hope among some circles in Bangalore after the Union Railway Minister Mr. Sadananda Gowda made a mention in the Rail Budget about the much delayed Suburban Rail System. He spoke of a survey when a survey has already been done by RITES.

24*7 Transport Service to all Major Railways Stations and TTMCs

The idea of a 24*7 service Bus Service to all railway major stations and bus stands across the length and breadth of the city has been mooted quite a few times.

Extend Metro Services Till Mid Night
