Talking of Abide and Karnataka 2020 task forces, some like the concepts (eminent personalities helping with their ideas), some hate it (unconstitutional, without accountability). Regardless, the two task forces are here to stay, and look to be set for some serious business. With that reality in place, we have created a special page to track news and activities related tp ABIDe and Karnataka 2020 task force (click here to see it) Please use tags "abide" or karnataka 2020" as applicable in your blog or forum posts to have it appear on this special page. And remember, when sharing news, select "tone" as "Sharing News", and only provide the URL to news article, and short summary with your comments on it. While on the subject of abide, we suggest that lets be realistic and constructive about it. the task forces seem to be in a position to make good changes. Lets go meet them, and offer help. Lets see them from close quarters before passing any judgments.

Using ABIDE for road design
One area of cooperation - Had a call with asj. One of the things that came of the call was that we actually take up a strech of road, say 1 to 1.5km and redesign it, based on some of the superb detailing that asj has been posting on road layouts. Can we use ABIDE to get us going for such a strech ?
The idea is we use the design methodology, and hopefully can demonstrate a significant improvement that will get the civic authorities, urban bodies interested and get the ball rolling. Am going to be busy for next few weeks, but we can take it up whenever we have a visit from ABIDE next.
