Urban DevelopmentGovernance

I had posted this blog on the Hasiru Usiru Yahoo-group, apart from a few others, which can be construed as campaign material favouring Dr Ashwin Mahesh for the MLC graduate constituency vacancy, election for which is coming up in June.

BusPublic Transport

Incidents of KSRTC drivers dying of cardiac arrest and stress related problems are on the rise.  The latest one being reported on 15-Apr-2012.  As if there is a divine intervention, in all these incidents, the drivers have either stopped driving or have swapped places with the second driver in the bus, thus avoiding absolute mayhem on the roads.  What can happen to the passengers

Why is privatisation still a dirty word?

Economy

Debates & opposition concerning these issues are part of this process & those that oppose cannot be termed 'vested interests' by those that seek 'speedy' privatization with claims that the aam-aadmi is paying a huge price & that privatization has already made things move towards services becoming world-class (whatever that

BusPublic Transport

This is more of a hunch, based on observation during last two weeks. But as I commute into the city from Whitefield everyday, and get to see crowded 500c buses (Vajra) at around the same time everyday at Marathalli, I get this feeling that the 500c crowds have thinned a bit.

How to pave the way for scams in Defence contracts

Economy

The Inland Rules was brought in 1986, when the Bofors scam took place, to knock out all honest and straight forward arms dealers. Coincidentally, thereafter, it seems that the scams in defence purchases have become bigger and bigger.

Induction Stoves - compelling

There has been lot of discussions on alternate energies here on Praja. However was also looking at alternate methods to cook at home.
