PCU for Bangalore? two wheelers?

up

Its become a norm that traffic is being measured as PCU (passenger car units) on the city streets. However Bangalore stands first in the highest proliferation of two wheelers in the whole country.

This is primarily attributed to the weather which makes it easy to ride a  scooter or a bike almost all through the year.

Now roads are been planned for cars scientifically with encouraging thoughts like uniform road width etc. However, is it also time to look at how roads can incorporate two wheelers too..not in a way they are mindlessly mixed along with cars and semis.

Technically its said that a motorcycle is 0.4 PCU. That number might be smaller with our cities with all the low powered vehicles.

So how do we plan to that section of the road users who are always exposed to the elements while the rest are grinning in big fat aircon cars?

This kind is unprecedented but its known that one single rule doesnt fit all!

Please share thoughts on how to give some consideration to motorcycles too..
