This is an interesting one from Lokayukta's list. Not sure if all of you remember the case of Kolar MLA caught taking bribe. The story here is different from Land conversions or bloated tenders. read the trail

The Hindu, Jan 30, 2009 - KGF MLA caught after 'accepting' bribe (link)

The Lokayukta police on Thursday caught a Bharatiya Janata Party MLA while he was allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs. 5 lakh ... Lokayukta N. Santhosh Hegde told presspersons that Mr. Farook’s site was taken over allegedly ... with forged documents. Mr. Farook filed a case in the civil court and tried to lodge a complaint against the three persons with the Andersonpet police, who turned him down and instead registered a complaint against him by the other three ... Mr. Farook went to the police station and sought to know the reason why the others’ complaint had been accepted and not his. “Sub Inspector Pasha and Inspector Laxmaiah asked Farook to approach the Deputy Superintendent of Police or the MLA,” Mr. Hegde said.

Not able to gather enough evidence or draw any inferences, the special House committee, which was set up to probe allegations of bribery against BJP MLA representing Kolar Gold Fields Y Sampangi, decided to close the case ... recommended the government "severely rap and pass strictures'' against complainant Husain Muheen Farooq for bringing a "false" case, for "defaming" the MLA and also failing to appear before it despite being served three notices to substantiate his charges.

The High Court has ordered emergent notice to the Speaker, Karnataka Lokayukta, Home Department and Y Sampangi, MLA, KGF in connection with a petition filed by Hussain Mueen Farooq ... Farooq, the man, who helped Lokayukta Police trap Sampangi submitted that he was receiving threat calls and had (not) received any security from the police and the Lokayukta.
