Following is the mail sent out by Mr Arbind Gupta, one of the key members of the group, on the OneBengaluru google-group:
Dear friends
Since the meeting of different lake teams on 5th Aug at IIM, we have been working to create a common lake portal that can work as a repository of documents, a means to share experiences, provide details of events planned by different lake teams, highlights different issues etc. We are happy to announce that the common lake portal is now ready, you can access it at http://bcity.in/topics/lakes. It also supports lake page for individual lakes (once it has been created). One can go to any lake page (right now, Arakere lake and Haralakunte Kere (Somasandrakere) lakes are available). If you want to create the lake page for your lake also then please write a mail to me or Bala. Once your lake page is created, you can upload documents, news, events etc. Sharing of experiences, issues, documents, events and news becomes available to all other through the common lake portal, thereby providing a common integrated platform.
It was felt by most and also suggested by many to coordinate our activities on issues of common interest for maximum benefit. To facilitate this, let us create a core group consisting of experts and one representative of each lake. The key objectives could be - "engage and build relationship with Govt, support individual lake teams for their activities and campaigns, evolve common approaches for key issues and provide expertise in specific areas". Few of the experts, namely Ashwin, Harini Nagendra, Subramanya S (Subbu), Usha Rajagopalan, NS Mukunda have already agreed to support and share their expertise. Please let us know of anyone else who can offer his / her expertise.
We invite each lake team to identify one person to be part of the core team.
Suggestions, criticism and further ideas are highly welcome and appreciated. I am attaching a small ppt to get an idea of how to use. You can also refer to the FAQ link on the lake portal.
Thanks and regards,
Arbind (arbind.gupta@gmail.com) and Bala (bathirun@gmail.com)
I expect Prajagalu would like to extend fullest support to the cause.
