Bengaluru Suburban Rail Still pending - Open Letter to Bengaluru City MPs!

To: All the MPs from Bengaluru City and surroundings,

Shri @ Prof. Rajeev Gowda, Shri, Sadananda Gowda, Shri. PC Mohan, Shri. Basavaraj and Shri @Tejeswi Surya

Trust you are all doing well. I don't think I need to brief you or apprise you of how badly our "Namma Bengaluru" needs a FULL-FLEDGE Suburban Rail Services. Though it should have been started in 2011-12, it is 2019 and we are still waiting. I am confident that you all know the importance of this project to Bengaluru's traffic congestion challenges and how serious is the continuous delay in starting this project.

It has been reported in the press that in coming days/months, you all are planning to attend various meetings with the railway officials here in Bengaluru and Railway Minister(s) in Delhi. Based on my conversation with the seasoned Suburban Railway activist here in Bengaluru, here is a list of works and services that can be initiated easily within a short span of time. I am hoping that this list helps in having a focused conversation with the railways to start more suburban rail services ASAP.

It is my humble request to you all to convince the railways to take up these works and services, which will help in starting the modest number of Suburban Rail services at the earliest.

1. Restore Banaswadi- Hosur services and extend up to Yeshwanthpur/Chikbanawar

2. Restore Banaswadi - Whitefield Service

3. Introduce new services from Whitefield to SBC after 7pm

4. Extend DMEU service from Yesvanthpur to Tumkur

5. New service with MEMU trains from Yelahanka to Whitefield should start immediately

6. New services from Yesvanthpur / Chikbanawar to Hosur around 8AM and similarly in the evening

7. Expedite New Halt station proposal at KIAL Airport Trumpet and Doddankundi

8. Provide stops for intercity Trains at Baiyyappanhalli station which will help commuters to take metro here itself

9. Provide PF shelters at Baiyyappanhalli, Bellandur, Hoody, Heelalige, Whitefield

10. Provide escalators/Elevator at Baiyyappanhalli Railway station for transferring to Metro Station.
