Yella Prajegalige vandaneglu / Thank you Green Warriors

Dist.Minister has disclosed today (20-6-09) that Govt has considered it its duty to protect the trees and has issued an Order against felling of trees; is contemplating alternatives to widen the Lalitha Mahal Road without felling trees, in view of peoples love for protecting such valuable trees of different species on the boulevard.

- Green warriors are not interested in bursting into a victory dance because they have done their solemn duty with a high degree of interest in safeguarding nature and the future world of not only their future generations but also of future generations of those adults who are bent upon axing the trees.

- Let us assist the authorities by extending a helping hand with whatever expertise we have at our command and let us also give a helping hand by taking part in the drive of planting saplings whenever and wherever such actions are initiated by whosoever it may concern.

- Thank you Govt. of Karnataka.

DCF questioned why she passed orders...by Parl.Secy to CM

Dear All

Is it possible to get reports on anything through government officials in a few hours??

Hon'ble Parliamentary Secretary to CM has done a miraculous thing - read on - source: Star of Mysore 19-6-09:

- Despite directions from Mysore MP, Karnataka CM and District Incharge Minister and also on the spot passing of the orders of the DCF refusing permission to axe 134 trees on Narasimharaja Boulevard in Mysore, The Parliamentary secretary to CM  has become a red warrior by calling for a meeting at his home office in Mysore on 19-6-09 -  who has summoned all officials and managed to get their reports in favour of axing the trees within few hours and also questioned the DCF why she passed orders at such public hearings.

- Such was the expediency with which destructive hapenings can take place where there is a political will.

- None of the following reports were submitted at the official public hearing called by the DCF according to law by any of the officials who were conspicuously absent on 8th June 2009 when more than 300 environ-mentalists, NGOs, Rakshana Vedike Members and NSUI students community participated.   While more than 25 people spoke and advocated protecting the trees and to find alternative solutions, hardly 5 individuals spoke; based on such majority concern by genuine nature lovers, DCF passed her orders that no permission will be given to MCC to cut trees.

- It is common knowledge that when such powerful political bigwigs make you write their reports, as government servants, THEY will be hide bound to bow and write what the politicians want - and this is what has happened at the instance of the political will.  Veracity of these reports need to be transparent.

- SE, PWD, Mysore submits his report about actual number of vehicles passing through that road ??

- Traffic Police Inspector submits his report about the numbers of deaths/accidents - he also reports that no deaths have taken place during this year so far !!!!??

- PWD/National Highways Engineers submit their report to widen to road to six lanes road ??

- Asst.Engineer, MUDA gives a report as to the details yet to be laid layouts(?) that need to be reached thro this road??

- Where were these men in authority on 8th June 09?

- KUDOS TO DCF MADAM

- SHE HAS STOOD BY HER ORDERS AND REFUSES TO CHANGE THEM SINCE EVERYTHING THAT WAS DONE WAS WELL WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE LAWS AND THAT SHE WOULD FORWARD COPY OF HER ORDERS TO THE TREE AUTHORITY PRESIDENT (THE MAYOR) and CF,DD,Horticulture, Commissioner, MCC and Corporators - members.

- There are alternate solutions but it is not clear why these men in authority are criticizing the senior citizens, NGOs, NSUI, Vedike Green Warriors with the help of some cooked up reports.
