Mysoreans had a highly appreciable peaceful bi-election held in late 2008 in Mysore due to the unflinching efforts of throwing all relevant rule books at the aspiring candidates concerning their ways of behaving, election code, excise rules, public nuisance, pollution, 'keep away from constituency - 48 hours earlier' etc.
We personally feel that in the presence of a highly proactive officer at the helm of affairs as DEO, though we do not expect anything brash happening, it is necessary to make the candidates and their partymen aware of these rule books once again, well in advance, so that the citizens may breath easy, come out of their homes and exercise their franchise without fear or favor.
It may be worthwhile to compile all those relevant rules, regulations and mail them to all the DEOs well in advance so that others may also have peaceful election.
