Which Metro Route To Airport Is Better?

Metro Rail

No decision has been taken yet for a metro route to airport. As per latest reports, BMRC is keen on the Thannisandra-Bagalur route (past Nagawara) since it saves on distance and since there is pressure to include airport connectivity by metro rail as part of phase-2 itself.

Is this the route to "Smart Bengaluru"?

Governance

Mid last week, I received a whatsapp message, from the local community group, stating as below:

Please kind attention !!!!!!!

No Trees for city streets??

Ranganath Swamy, Assistant Conservator of Forests, BBMP Forest Cell, said the existing roads were being constantly used and re-used for infrastructure projects, making trees vulnerable in the city. As a result, saplings can be planted only in “closed spaces” like educational institutions, fenced government premises and clubs.

BBMP road history - site working

BBMP seems to have made a  silent move after the initial hype about the road history being available of all roads in Bangalore which was announced few months ago..a google search leads to the below site which gives the information:

http://218.248.45.164:808...

Use IE to open it (needs silverlight), chrome needs some tweaks to make it work.

Sorry State of Bengaluru Volvos or Vajras

Sorry state of BMTC's Volvos will get tears in your eyes. All the Volvos are failing on the roads. Many of the buses making various noises such as crank shaft break down, buses giving fatal alarm with drivers still driving the buses. Such a beauty of a machine is being spoiled by BMTC like anything.

Garbage dumping in S T Bed layout storm water drain

Public Health

The storm water drain passing through the S T Bed layout (Koramangala) has been notorious for the stink it spreads all around, largely because it's not storm water that flows down it, but plain raw sewage.
