Seen this interesting article in DH on state of KLDA?
Summary: Budget allocation - Rs 3.15 Cr for 40,000 lakes in the state. Karnataka Lake Development Authority has 4 officers and 6 contract employees, 1 vehicle and 1 telephone for the whole state!.
Compare that against 4 cr spent just for beautification of Hebbal Lake.
No wonder DH quotes “The LDA was set up for bird watching.”!
