For some time now, blogs, facebook  and other forms of social media have been used extensively for rallying people around an issue or a cause. However, what makes some of these campaigns more successful than others? Does the workability of social media for mobilisation depend on the manner in which information is designed and/or disseminated?

Bangalore PRAJA members have from long been eager for a direct meeting with Mr Manivannan, a bureaucrat who has had no reservations about interacting with them through the net. The meeting that had been planned some months back in Mysore had to be called off at the last minute because of some disturbances there.

  The residents of Apartment complexes in and around Belandur Lake area are concerned about the upkeep of the Lake. The issues are avoidance of health hazards, Eco enhancement including environment protection. These residents are dependent on Bore wells for there drinking water needs.
