APPIKO movement in Mysore to save boulevard on Lalitha Mahal Road

Photograph of Appiko Movement by students, senior citizens and members of MGP. The number of trees proposed to be axed are confusing.  Almost every tree on this boulevard has been fixed with a red card, a number is written in chalk, scored with a cross and another number written.  Misleading the citizens.

Traffic volume even after 5 years will not warrant destruction of this beautiful tree lined avenue.  Mysoreans are at a loss as to why those in authority are embarking on such a holocast just to utilise the funds that have been pumped into from various quarters like JNNURM, CM's largessee, Dusserah Funds etc.  No wonder the MCC is presenting a surplus budget because whatever is being spent is from other funds than its own coffers.

- Citizens must be awake and keep watching otherwise, in order to continue the destruction, authorities may embark on cutting spree in the dead of the night.

That will make sure Mysore follows the Bengaluru way

How ironic that the roads flyovers and underpasses model are being copied on the Heritage city to promote tourism by outsiders sitting in Bengaluru and Delhi so that once Mysore becomes world class with "24X7" water supply for them Investment will increase and convert another pensioners paradise into a globally intergrated city.
