BIAL House Committe Probe - What can we do?

Friends,

Apart from RTI efforts (http://bangalore.praja.in/bangalore/discuss/2008/07/bial-right-information-rti-efforts), we might have another oppurtunity here.

You might have already seen this news item. http://www.deccanherald.com/Content/Aug12008/scroll2008080182143.asp?section=updatenews

Do you think we have a chance to participate any in the proceedings? Does the house committee hold any public hearings? If they don't, can we somehow get to hold some? We might be able to raise questions, provide data, and/or participate in some other manner. I'm not very aware of the typical workings of such committees (I'd guess this would be another one of those eye-wash types), but some of our 'Prajegalu' might have the answers.

Thanks,

Ravi

BIAL House Committe Probe - What can we do?

I realize that this is dreaming to some degree, knowing how many of these Govt initiatives end up no where, or get completely politicised in the end.

Yet, thinking positive, since the House Committe is formed by GOK, even if the committe affairs weren't public, we might have some RTI options open.

Thanks,

Ravi

Shri S Suresh Kumar

Shri S Suresh Kumar, the Minister for Urban Development, Law and Parliamentary Affairs is a very transparent and public minded person. I am sure if we can get to meet him once, we could present our take on BIAL.
