Any ideas on how exactly will Metro look at this beautiful Jayanagar road? What is the precise location and design of upcoming terminal on Nanda Talkies road?

More than sharing the concern over cutting trees on this beautiful stretch, I haven't seen any concrete material on how exactly will BMRC 'extend' Metro to Banashankari as was announced recently. Metro Route Map still shows R V Road Terminal as the last stop. BMRC's regular update note says that DMRC had submitted a draft DPR in September 2007. Anyone seen or heard more about this 'draft DPR'?

I am sure BMRC does its research and recordings before making these decisions. But why is it that they don't share some of that with us. This is not a Rs 30 crore flyover we are talking, its the biggest project Bangalore has ever seen. Isn't it fair to expect better transparency in decision making and execution?

no ideas, only recently they have called for tenders for designing the stations. check: http://www.bmrc.co.in/pdf... agree with the transperancy. did you see the size of their enquiry field? i have half a mind to send them a query asking why that field is so small. rofl!!! seriously, some how communication is something that is seriously lacking. its been so silent on the metro front. it works both ways, one is keeps it clean, then again it also helps spread the good word among those who are not interested in technicalities. think about pub trans and such. information hurt nobody.

Alignment - Shivshankar Circle to RV Rd Terminal

Hi SB /TS, Pls see BMRC site under 'News', Item No.22-8: Land Plans for Shivshankar circle to MadhavRao park. The alignment ramps up & emerges out of tunnel onto KR Road, just past Shivshankar circle & proceeds till National college circle, turns left onto Vanivilas road & continues, turns right onto RV road near Lalbagh west gate, goes past South end circle & past Nanda theater upto the end of RV road. All along after Shivshankar circle, the section is elevated & piers /pylons are along the road median at centre line. So, I presume some tree branches that come in the way will be pruned, but trees on the sides of the road may be retained, except where elevated stations are to be positioned, as shown in the land plans. Trees & other structures that come in the way to provide parking areas adjacent Jayanagar stn (near Nanda) & at the end of RV Road on Lakshman Rao boulevard will be removed. As regards extension to Banashankari, I think the alignment will turn right on to 100 ft road & continue till Banashankari bus stn, where it will turn left on to Kanakapura road & terminate at ORR junction, with pylons positioned similarly, along the road median.

BMRC's Response to RTI Ltr.

Hi All ! BMRC has responded to my RTI queries. Their responses can be viewed at the following links : http://www.flickr.com/pho... http://www.flickr.com/pho... It is clear that they have squarely made the Urban development dept in-charge of the more serious issues raised in the letter. By the way, I wanted to post a text document (contents of the final draft of my RTI ltr), but have been unable to do it thro' Flickr as it accepts only photo file formats. Any ideas ? As they have stated, suggestions made in the CTTP will be followed, subject to govt's approval. Metro Phase-2 is planned from Whitefield to Indiranagar & EC to Yelahanka. Is'nt there anything further about CTTP ? Is the detailed report still unavailable ?
