Manjari,

Great going. Thanks for posting the info. I just noticed that BMTC has lot of information available on their site. Few weeks back even I had seen the audited financial results. It will be a good attempt to go thru them as well and see if they are heading in right direction.

 Administrative report is available on:

Various BMTC studies are available @

There are number of links on Main page listing various new services that are now in operation. My cursory scanning of the Volvo service tells me that there are number of routes that can be merged into one and increase the frequency. I will go through them and list the redundancy.

Syed, The administrative report also contains audited financial data, but it is not the latest report - it is for the year 2006-2007. The Study on BMTC looks interesting - will go through a post a summary of that report soon. It will be interesting to actually check if BMTC has implemented any of the suggestions stated in the report.

Rithesh is right, I checked that pdf and I compared few of the data and found that nothing matches. For example the number of depots or buses in the report and on the site are different. I think we should get hold of the latest administrative report.

Excellent job, Manjari and team! The list is as exhaustive as it can possibly be. If BMTC genuinely attempts to answer these queries, I expect, the learnings will indeed be valuable for them.

We need to strategise as to how to move forward, may be over a meeting of this group.

Do we have any information about the closing time of BMTC buses?
Are there any services which ply late night or 24 hours?
