Praja Visit to newly rebuilt Vittal Mallya Road

Recently the newly remodelled 'Vittal Mallya Road' was inaugurated by the CM and it promises to usher a new Ieaf in modern road planning and construction. On June 12 PS Ananthram Sir, KV Pathy Sir, Mr. Janardanam and Dr. Srinath Heragu had a Praja face to face meet at the remodelled Vittal Mallya road to get a first hand feel of the promises. The tour started from the Kasturba road end of the Vittal Mallya Road and ended at the St Marks road end.

Global Investors Meet - Tier2 cities to get some love?

The Global Investors Meet (GIM) was held in Bangalore Karnataka for 2 days starting on June 4, 2010. The event started off with a grand start fuelling hopes of an economic revival for not just Karnataka but for the entire nation. At the end of GIM, the state signed 358 MoUs. The steel sector invested Rs 221,244 crore, cement industry Rs 36,991 core, power sector Rs 25,214 crore.

Palace Ground walls to make room for road widening

The walls of the historical Palace Grounds will make way for road-widening on the busy Bellary Road. As a major component of the 600 km road-widening project in the city, the walls will have to be knocked off. According to BBMP commissioner Bharat Lal Meena, BBMP has already taken up the project for road widening on Bellary Road with the consent of Srikantadatta Narasimharaja Wadiyar whose palace property is under litigation. BBMP sources told TOI that Wadiyar's family has agreed to give away the land on certain conditions. These include authority over 150 advertising hoardings over the wall that encompasses the Palace and construct a wall of 14 ft.

Namma Railu - Bengaluru Commuter Rail

Thanks to IDS, Sanjeev, Naveen, the Praja demand report on commuter rail for Bengaluru is complete and is now under review process for formal release and distribution. Plans are afoot for a formal meeting with GOK IDD official Mr.Madhu for formal submission for serious action on this issue. Look out for the announcement soon. Open Data for Karnataka - Pilot

Thanks to Silkboard, IDS, Shekhar, Rithesh and Sreeram, a formal presentation is ready with a high level project plan for making the information from government departments available for public consumption via a website. The team is in touch with a few government officials for their participation in the pilot and expect to 1-3 confirmations ASAP. For more information on this interesting project read here
