Choked connectivity to Whitefield - solutions?

Public Transport

If you look back, or go ask city agencies, they would say that a lot has been done to improve connectivity to Whitefield. A six-lane railway overbridge at Marathahalli, 2006. A prominent Big-10 service (G-1), 2010. A once-every-5-minutes air conditioned bus service (335E), 2009. Road improvements (Varthur Road, Mahadevapura main road), since 2003.

City to get commuter rail services soon

Commuter RailPublic Transport

State government, South Western Railway to share cost of commuter rail service.

SWR & BMTC to blame for poor response for Devanahalli service

Commuter RailPublic Transport

On the one hand the city whines that it doesn’t have a “lifeline” like Mumbai’s suburban trains. It clamours for Metro and other high-speed rail networks. On the other, South Western Railway (SWR) is planning to withdraw the train service from Yeshwanthpur to Devanahalli via Bengaluru International Airport (BIA) just a year after it was introduced.

Daily scene at the interjunction of Coles Park on St Johns Road in Bangalore

TrafficTraffic jams

I just fail to understand Why we Bangaloreans, the residents of Silicon City of India behave in such a chaotic manner, does the person coming from other side of the road, not have a right to smooth passage. Is it that all the hurry is only for us?

Bicycle Parking - enabling safety and security of Cycles

Infrastructure

One of the important things to enable Bicycling is to have Bicycle Parking which is safe and secure . Not having safe parking is a major barrier. Ride a Cycle Foundation feels that atleast important areas like Lalbagh should have bicycle parking facilities.
