Most annoying driver behaviours

Traffic

Taking off from the APAD and DDC campaigns, I thought I'll try to note down the most annoying driver behavious that I keep coming across on an almost everyday basis. Here's my list, which may not be quite exhaustive, but which is generally in the order of annoyance to me:

Voice of Praja and hand of praja

TrafficTraffic jams

Dear Sir/ Madam,

We have learned from the time we have come to our senses that Government is a huge organization with little ability to take immediate actions due to lack of time, budget and lack of quick communication.

Even the September 11 in US happened due to lack of quick communication and lack of time to scrutinize the security norms.

Dear Sir/ Madam,

Inching

Everything else

Happens so often in our world, but this one really got to me this morning. After waiting patiently for the light to turn green the third time, I managed to get tangled up right in the middle of the intersection - with vehicles inching in from all directions and eat into whatever little space that was left for me to pass.

Going around in circles

EnforcementTraffic

Within one and a half years of its opening, the rotary yield junction at the busy Krishna Rajendra (K.R.) Circle is set to get traffic signals, mainly on account of the closure of the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Veedhi and opening of the alternative roads for the construction of the Vidhana Soudha underground metro station.

Seat belts optional in Bangalore?

EnforcementTraffic

Is the wearing of seat belts optional in Bangalore?  On my recent visits here I find (on a quick check) less than 30% of private car drivers wear seat belts, almost no taxi driver and LCV driver wears one.

What is making you...?

Traffic

We know being a DD is not easy but doable? Many times we are tempted/forced to break rules and behave rude. I am sure every DD has come across, so I have few questions. Let us know what is your experiences on this?

1) What makes you really change lanes though you are at right speed and right lane?

2) What makes you honk though you are a DD.

Need for road divider on St Johns Church Road

EnforcementTraffic

St Johns Church Road is a major road leading to Mekhri Circle, Peenya and BIAL. The stretch from Bharatinagar Police Station to Coles Park is a crucial stretch with a lot of schools in the nearby location. Unfortunately due to lack of a road divider, there is no lane discipline on this stretch.

Metro Pillars used as parking slots obstructing traffic

EnforcementTraffic

Bangaloreans have done it again! The namma metro towers which run right in middle of the road are being used as parking slots by vehicles in CMH especially in the Lakshmipuram slot. The traffic police for some reason is not curbing this menace. They obstruct smooth flow of traffic and causing a lot of snarls. Will somebody take action to rectify it

Prices do the trick to control traffic

EnforcementTraffic
