Dear all,

As a continuation of our Come, Cross the Road event to highlight the issues faced by pedestrians across Bangalore, we will be carrying it out at the following places tomorrow, July 27th, Wednesday (5:30 PM to 7 PM):

Hall of shame spot #2 - Domlur Flyover?

Pedestrian Infrastructure

Seeing purely from the point of view of amenities for public transport users to change buses (their direction of commute), I count Domlur Flyover also as a hall of shame spot.

Skywalk near EGL campus on Inner Ring Road Domlur Junction

InfrastructurePedestrian Infrastructure

As we have talked a lot about public transport as well as pedestrian friendly infrastructure, many of Prajagalu's must be aware of the fact that thousands of people cross the road in front of EGL campus/DELL office on Inner Ring Road, Domlur. Still there is no safe way and no right of way for the pedestrians.

Curious case of Blr Footpaths

InfrastructurePedestrian Infrastructure

Have been observing footpath related activities..especially around Basavanagudi/Hanumanth nagar area since few years..BBMP does the footpaths over and over again..this happens almost once in two years..initially there was the kuddapa stone(undressed) as the foot path..this was changed to dressed kuddapa..

This was replaced by concrete slabs few years ago

Manual ped signals

InfrastructurePedestrian Infrastructure

I appriciate this facility by BTP/B-TRAC. This switch enables pedistrians to intervene automatic signal so that a green signal is forced for road crossing. As this seems relatively new, no one seems using it. Probably some volunteering work needed to educate users. We need more such signals at highways.

Absence of Skywalks on International Airport Road

InfrastructurePedestrian Infrastructure

The new international airport road has no skywalks for pedestrains and neighbouring residents to cross roads at Kodigehalli Gate,Esteem Mall Junction,Dasarahalli Road(Opp Godrej Apartments),Byatarayanapura,GKVK and Kogilu-New international Airport Road junction thus jeopardising the lives of people in the surrounding areas.,Especially those using it in the night when taxis, vehicles ram in at

eCity-Phase 2 new Footpath : Visual Report

InfrastructurePedestrian Infrastructure

Few days back new footpath work completed in eCity Phase-2. From XIME to TataBP Solar strech. Here is the photo report. I have no comments posted on this intentionally. Last few pics show how a footpath space is used for "beautification" by a private company. So no footpath laid there :(
