Transport Infrastructure Projects for Bengaluru Progressing nowhere

Infrastructure projects related to Projects mainly Commuter Rail, Light Rail, Monorail and BRTS is not progressing anywhere. Both the earlier BJP and Congress Governments have forgotten the CTTP reports and the recent survey done by a UK based company which already had prepared DPR for the light rail on the western half of Outer Ring Road and Magadi Road.

Monorail or Metro ph III?

BMRCL is buoyed by the approvals they have received for ph II implementation that they have gove ahead to plan for ph III by initiating the study with RITES.

Need an Institutional Framework for integration of Different Modes of Transit for Bengaluru

Public Transport

Success of any city's transport depends on how well are they integrated with each other. Worldover, Institutional Framework organizations work towards achieving this. Examples are Transport for London (TFL) for London, Metropolitan Transport Authority (MTA) for New York, Land Transport Authority (LTA) of Singapore, STIF of Paris etc.

Light Rail at grade..too bold?

As we have seen there seems to be some activity around building light rail as a feeder to metro(Bannerghatta rd - Hebbal). For some historic reasons The Bangalore Airport Rail Link (BARL) Ltd is actually working on the DPR for it.

Commuter RailPublic Transport

Hi,

The planned gauge conversion of the existing Kolar-Chikballapur line appears meaningless & expensive since one wonders how useful it would be. How many trains will actually be run ? How many people will eventually travel between these two towns ?

Metro Ph II to HSR..why Monorail?

Metro RailPublic Transport

So the routes, at least the end points, are finally out from the DPR for PH II. I still dont understand what makes the DMRCL a better authority to develop these reports, no Idea of what traffic studies were done and what surveys were done..never heard of any..thought these are the basic inputs for putting out a plan report..
