I want to start a project where i am able to implement bus route maps in the form of glowing ( for night) signages which are clear, visible, depicting 'where you are' and the nearby bus routes from the stop to main stops in bangalore.

Ashok said the BMTC had proposed to build a hotel near Bangalore International Airport and also a bus terminus to provide facilities to the passengers who arrive late in the night.

Sometime ago, we discussed Bangalore hall of shame locations, and Marathahalli Outer Ring Road junction. After one round of work to 'improve' pavements where in they basically widened the roads connecting Outer Ring road and Varthur Road, and installed barricades to prevent pedestrian spill over, this junction has been left as it is.

I have been a regular office goer and hence would like to bring to your notice the difficulty faced going to office from Sai baba Bus stop to Agarkar Chowk after 8.30 am in the morning and then coming back from office after 7.00 pm in the evening  from Agarkar chowk.
 

Final version of BPS concept paper - any fresh ideas?

Time to move past the draft stage, and finalize a first version of BPS concept paper. We can then resume the "advocacy exercise" with BMTC and BBMP. Starting this post to collect new ideas that would add to what we have already summarized in the draft version (see last project post).

DULT is on the lookout for suggestions on bus stop (shelter) design to suggest to relevant authorities. So please post as comments to this post & suggest what you wuld like to see in a bus stop shelter & also what additional features should a bus stop shelter have that will make it an attractive place.

I would like to sincerely Thank Conductor and Driver of the bus route No 9/8 Bus No. FA 1762 for their humanity and promptness in returning my bag that I forgot when I got down at Kammanahalli stop without collecting my bag which had my certificates and other valuables more than items my certificates was most important without which I would have struggled a lot.

This is not new thing or research. But I am sure if a trip number is mentioned in display board it will help public. I propose to bmtc to include trip numbers in display boads. 

Example: For bus number 378 Kengeri to Electronic City,

Karnataka has seen a major development in KRSTC , BMTC and in their services.. A major investment has been made on luxury buses (Volvo, Marcopolo, Mercedes and many more) and also on the infrastructure on the bus stand, plus not to forget the GPRS services.

Online booking of tickets has helped a major commuters and mainly IT crowd.
