Ganesha Festival & Our Environment

You may not have seen some of these pictures... but this is what happens after the festival is over. This entry (see last paragraph) seems to even imply a ban by Mumbai police.

I'm sure you are aware of the side effects. Prajegale - can we do our part and refrain from causing such pollution? Buy idols made of clay (if we have to). Don't pollute our bodies of water. Stop blaring loud music every day and every night for a week in every street (and not start it right after in the next street).

Let us (and others) enjoy the festival in simple, peaceful, old fashined way - true to its spirit.

Happy Ganesha Chaturthi in advance :)

Thanks,

Ravi
