Can we call this teething troubles anymore?

18 months on - no clear road markings, no stop lines, no zebra crossings, no pedestrian refuge, no footpaths - an absolute joke.

Who else has a lot to loose from the BRT? IMO, even these small shopkeepers would love to see BRT gone.

Not done right vs not needed

Dr asj, don't want to open that long closed debate again via a comment, but I have seen Pune BRT from close quarters. It is a case of not-done-right, and not not-needed.

Do you want to post a detailed description of Pune BRT? If you can start a post, we will build on it by gathering RFPs, design specs etc. Let us put all facts about it on the table, and then discuss what was wrong with the design.

Whether BRT is a good solution or not is a separate talk, we know your views on it. But, if at all a BRT is done, whats the best design for it, and what inputs should go into designing it - wanted to do a geeky talk on this subject.

What if BRT needed but not implementable

SB,

First we need to justify the NEED.

Once we have done that, BRTS should be implementable.

But I am posting as a separate post (as per your suggestion) a not so geeky algorithm / flow chart to initiate further discussion -
