Guv. Redifined..

Governor office was more on the lines of the presidents office..just involved with ceremonies and functions..though it changed with Dr. Abdul Kalam! Now we are having a similar situation in bangalore now..The resp. guv office is really gearing up and sending positive signs with many project initiatives..very intersting. The latest being.. ------------------------ BANGALORE: In a major decision, the State Government on Tuesday gave a green signal to the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to execute its ambitious projects- peripheral ring road (PRR) around Bangalore city connecting Tumkur Road and Hosur Road through Old Madras Road and an expressway providing connectivity to Devanahalli International Airport. --------------------------- Kheny had suggested sometime ago that he would have implemented part of the PRR(through NICE) Hosur road - Mysore road - Tumkur road and had suggested BDA/Govt to take over construction on the other part.. Tumkur road - OMR - Hosur road Is this move related to that? The earlier suggestion from BDA to build a PRR streach 200-500mts from the nice road was really stupid anyways! But would like to refrain from reading between lines as long as there is progress! Also, this development is not just related to Bangalore as road dev. in other parts of karnataka is also on the cards.. Great going!

Gov Exec Committee On Roads

KA executive committee headed by the Governor Rameshwar Thakur has decided to hand over the implementation of the airport expressway (ORR-BIAL) and the phase 1 of BDA's PRR(Tumkur Rd-Bellary Rd-Hosur Rd) to NHAI.

The necessary land for the PRR and the airport expressway will still be aquired by BDA and BMRDA respectively, but the NHAI will reimburse the state for the aquired land. Both projects would be taken up under the Build, Own, Operate and Transfer scheme.
