roads over drains?

talk of storm water drains reminds me. What happened BBMP's plan of building roads over storm water drains? It seemed like a good one, and its about time we heard next steps on it. BTW - good to see BBMP get an ward. Keep it up guys.

have to be careful what we wish for here. unless they pay special attention to engineering this will spoil the already stressed up drainage system. remember chennai? hosur road type elevated highway will not do... #1. the bases of the piers must not block flow or tend to accumulate debris #2. widen the drains by the amount taken up by the piers #3. best option is some system which can have support structures on the shoulders of the drains some sort of cantilevered piers or a structure based on vertical beams on either side..

Can anyone tell me about this Gali Anjaneya junction grade separator? Its features? project timelines? etc. I last visited that area about 3 weeks back. Didn't see any construction on Mysore Road except the storm water drain being lined by concrete walss.
