BMTC in Metro Times

Ever since the launch of Metro, especially after East West Purple line was fully implemented, Bengaluru is saying 'Metro, Metro'. BMTC commuters, office bus users and many car drivers have switched over to Metro.  Ridership has already touched 1.8 Lakhs on purple line.

Metro Rail

With the recent introduction of  Namma Metro E-W corridor, lot of fanfare from media as well as public. The line is already takng 1,30,000 passengers. One end of the line, people are parking their vehicles and boarding Metro, while the other end if they are not IT crowd not working in Whitefield or Eastern Outer Ring Road, such as Vidhana Soudha / MS Building, they are benefitted.

Sorry State of Bengaluru Volvos or Vajras

Sorry state of BMTC's Volvos will get tears in your eyes. All the Volvos are failing on the roads. Many of the buses making various noises such as crank shaft break down, buses giving fatal alarm with drivers still driving the buses. Such a beauty of a machine is being spoiled by BMTC like anything.

Killer Powerful and Luxurious Vehicles

Hit-and-run case in Noida; speeding BMW knocks down four people

Segregation of 2 wheelers from 4 wheelers

Yesterday's incident of knocking down a startup CEO Anush Ramani while travelling on a two wheeler by a speeding car making him to loose his bones was shocking.

Poor BMTC Maintenance - City Loosing lots of hi-tech buses?

I recently travelled to New Delhi and used city buses as well as saw many Marcopolo buses operating there, both Diesel and CNG without any problems and huge amount of smoke they emit in Bengaluru. Bangalore had many Marcopolo buses which although comfortable inside, was emitting too much smoke outside , low pickup and frequent failures.

Nospace infront of Ecospace

All the IT office goers passing through Bellandur infront of ecospace as well as cab drivers, bmtc bus drivers are all talking about Ecospace. It has become a nightmare for Bangalore Traffic Police.

Various company heads recently met Traffic Police Head, Sri. Saleem.

This is a thread to discuss about how to solve this in a more innovative way.

Devegowda Petrol Bunk Flyover - Another Silkboard in the making ?

A new flyover is being constructed at the Devegowda Petrol Bunk on the Outer Ring Road from Banagiri side to Kadirenahalli. Again, very poor planning just like many waste flyovers of Bangalore especially Silkboard. This is just similar to Silkboard addressing only 2 out of 12 combinations.

Benefits offered for riding a car - None for using public transport!!!

Recently my friend working in another company told that he was given 1lakh by his company to buy a car after using which he cannot use company shuttles. I felt this move by the company is ridiculous to encourage private car usage. He now drives all the way from Katriguppe to Byappanahalli causing congestion and emmission all over.

Metro Rail

Please sign in this petition addressed to Transport Minister, GoK, MD BMTC and MD BMRCL to introduce buses from Byappanahalli Metro Station to ITPL and Silkboard. What we need is the extension of Tin Factory Buses from Silkboard to Byappanahalli which is hardly 2 kms more.

Car Sharing - Is this the way to go?

Self Driving Rental Cars from vendors such as zoomcar as well as Taxis are easily accessible now in Bangalore. To make a city a smart city, these kind of rental cars and rental bicycles plays a major role as stated by the owner of zipcar, who introduced car sharing on hourly basis.

Transport Infrastructure Projects for Bengaluru Progressing nowhere

Infrastructure projects related to Projects mainly Commuter Rail, Light Rail, Monorail and BRTS is not progressing anywhere. Both the earlier BJP and Congress Governments have forgotten the CTTP reports and the recent survey done by a UK based company which already had prepared DPR for the light rail on the western half of Outer Ring Road and Magadi Road.

Before Phase 1 Metro Go Live - Lot could be done

Metro Rail

Government of Karnataka planned for Bangalore Metro 11 years back, way back in 2003 and the actual work started only in late 2007. Bangaloreans could get first ride of Meto in late 2011, after 4 years of start of project for only 7kms. Second stretch of Reach 3 covering 11kms was opened after 2.5 years in March 2014.

Beware of Change Snatchers - I am a Victim

Beware of Change Snatchers. I had a bad experience today. Two people came in an auto while I was in bus stop and requested change for Rs.500. I said I do not have, but they insisted to check and they have struggled hard to get change. I again said I do not have, but they said 'nivu educated aagiddu obbarige help madalvenri'. I checked my wallet and I had change.
