In the current system if a person has to dig a road they have to get the permit from BBMP after paying the prescribed fees. The prescribe fees are high  - they are in the range of 1200 to 1500 per meter. For 40 feet road, it will cost as much as 15000 to 18000. Not to mention the additional convenience charges that one might have to pay to get the permit sooner. 

One more lake make-over project announced

One more lake makeover plan has been announced and this time it is BBMP. 900 crores will be spent on makeover of 187 lakes and the project is called ‘Namma Bangalore Nisarga’.

Killing our lakes - Hebbal/Nagavara Lake example

See the image below - it shows the Hebbala and Nagavara lakes. I am told by the locals that the area covered in the red boundary once formed an elaborate and huge lake system. The system first got divided by the Bellary road and the region right to the road subsequently dried out. This region was taken over by the UAS and they used it for rice/paddy crop experiments.

Revised Kendra Sarige / HOHO routes

After a poor response from the public to the initial Kendra Sarige services, the BMTC has revised the routes. The highlight of the new route is, it connects the 3 main BMTC hubs (TTMCs) - KempeGowda Bus Stand (Majestic), Shantinagar Bus Stand and Shivajinagar Bus Stand.
