What's in for B'lore and Karnataka in Railway Budget?

up
39 users have liked.

The 2015-16 Railway Budget is out and Jury is still out there. The biggest disappointment was, there is no mention of Namma Railu in the budget. Nothing to be surprised. If 2 ministers from the state can't do justice for this important project, can't hope for miracles from a minister hailing from other state.

But there are few announcements that Praja had listed in its wish list. This is what B'lore and Karnataka got in this budget.

BANGALORE

  • B’luru-Mysuru track doubling project: Rs 47 crore sanctioned (state will now release Rs 80 crore)
  • Rs 10 crore released this year for 12-km stretch of Yeshwantpur-Yelahanka doubling and electrification work
  • Rs 15 crore sanctioned for Yelahanka-Channasandra doubling work
Karnataka State
  • Rs 10 crore for Hejjalapur-Chamrajnagar track doubling work
  • Rs 55 crore (state will provide Rs 80 crore) for 166 km Bengaluru-Hassan broad gauge line via Nelamangala, Kunigal and Shravanabelagola. Project will be completed by June 2016
  • Rs 85 crore for Hosadurga-Chikkajajur doubling project in Bengaluru-Hubli Division
