city connect foundation is working on a project for the conservation of pallikaranai marsh in chennai.

fyi: pallikaranai is home to 125 birds, 10 mammals, 21 reptiles, 9 amphibians, 49 species, 9 molluscans, 5 curtaceans, 7 butterflies, 120 plant species.

Interchange hubs for inter-city travelers in Bangalore?

How is Bangalore doing on Interchanges or transit centers? Not to be mixed with the burning need for local transit / bus change centers, where TTMCs have simply not filled the gap, and changing buses is a painfully inconvenient thing in general, the problem area is with long distance public transport. How do people arrive at the city, and then go to their final destination point?

BMTC and monopoly - opening up Local Bus Transport in Bangalore

BMTC has monopoly in operating road based public transport services in Bangalore. No-one is allowed to operate buses to carry general public in Bangalore. Special and closed situations like Private companies shuttling their employees, and schools hauling in their students are the only exceptions to this monopoly.
